Lexie's Chain: The Ninety-Fourth Chain

Hello pals! Welcome to Week 94 of #lexieschain. Dis week was down to Patch to choose. Last time was Eric Clapton and Layla. Let's see wot happened this week!

@diamondbertie
Last weeks' winner was Layla by Eric Clapton. I choose Buffalo Soldier by Bob Marley, Why? Eric Clapton also sang I Shot the Sherif which was a Bob Marley Song. Also I like Buffalo Soldier, sad and tuneful.

@djladylexie
Okies Eric Clapton san da song Layla wot was alledgely about Patti Boyd. Annuva song wot he dun which she inspired was Bell Bottom Blues. Bell bottoms was trousers wot was very flared at da bottom an was very popliar wiv hippies an dat. Dis got me finkin bowt songs abowt trousers --- an what better linky dan Madness's Baggy Trouser!

@terenceterrier
The winning linky to follow on from iz “Layla” by Eric Clapton. Eric Clapton woz in the group Cream and becos it iz Halloween dis week I choose their track “Strange Brew” as my linky.

@bunnersandharvs
So well dun to you Patch for da winning da linky in last week's song Layla by Eric Clapton. We has thorted bout dis and decided to go wif da simple link of da songy Layla to 'Lola' by da kinks *L*O*L*A*. Why, well erm cause we dEy both starts w L and well we was stuck and thort wot dA hell...BOL!

@bvfeyj
Okay... Eric Clapton is da only dude to be inducted to da Rock and Roll Hall ob Fame 1... 2... 3 times! and he hab played wif eberyone and his brofur in one ob his many bands or as a guest or in tribute concerts or charity somefings so it got me finking... is dere someone dat Clapton hab NOT played wif? To be sure me decided me hab to find somebody who neber played blues, rock, reggae, and/or maybe somebody who was dead before Clapton started to play. Me did come up wif Enrico Caruso!

@marleyterrier
I was reading a little bit bout Eric Clapton and i did see that Layla was inspired by his un-re-kwited love for Patti Boyd. Their story did ave a apply ending (sort of) cos they did eventually get married…and like a trio moosician Eric did ave to get married at a stop on his tour in Tuscon, Arizona. So, we has looked for songs bout Arizona and the one we do like is The Painted Desert by 10,000 Maniacs…this song do say in it ""In a Flagstaff trailer court, you wrote the line/He kicked a tumbleweed and his mother called him home/Where the Arizona moon met the Arizona sun." Dat be my link this week….

@kelsoterrier
You gotta love the Clapton and Layla is such a great song! Layla is a song about unrequited love and, as we all know, Eric was also in a band called Cream. So this week for my link I am going to choose another epic song about unrequited love by a band named after a foodstuff...my choice? Black by Pearl Jam of course. Pearl Jam being named after the jam made by one of the band members Aunty Pearl.

@wonderwinger
Congratulations to the fabulous feline, Patch for winning last week's chainy giving us Layla by Eric Clapton. Eric Clapton did a cover of Bob Marley's I Shot The Sheriff in 1974 which helped to bring Bob to the attention of the world. My linky is the song of the millennium according to a vote by the BBC: One Love/People Get Ready by Bob Marley

@rettetkaninchen
Eric Clapton is an extremely great guitar player. Another amazing guitar heroine is Tracy Chapman. Saw her a several times live on stage and she rocked da house. But that's not the only thing both have in common: they both also relased a song called "Crossroads". So my suggestion for this week is Tracy Chapman's Crossroads.
