Lexie's Chain: The Hundred and Sixty Third Chain

Hello pals! Welcome to week 163 of #lexieschain. Last week da winner was Clapton wiv Aerosmith an Back in the Saddle. Lets see wot we gots dis week:

@maggietkat
Well done Clapton with Areosmith's "Back in the Saddle". Being an older American, I have memories of Western crooners from the 50's, specifically Gene Autry and his version of "Back in the Saddle Again" comes to mind.

Since I didn't want to proposed essentially the same title 2 weeks in a row, I have chose another of his hits. My link this week is "Ghost Riders in the Sky", not my favorite rendition, but works for this link. Enjoy (she says with trepidation)!

@Wotterface
We thought about saddles and different kind of saddles and our thoughts rested on horses and the lovely Alison Goldfrapp riding on a funky disco horse. We love the seventies vibe in the video too. Our choice is Goldfrapp and Ooh La la.

@diamondbertie
Last week @claptonterrier won with Back in the Saddle by Aerosmith I thought of cycling music I kept thinking of a wonderful animation called The Triplets of Belleville or the French Version Belleville Rendezvous, I laugh at it every time and the music is so fitting.

@skye613
Well done Mr. Clapton ! "Back In The Saddle" took me right to westerns. I have had the good fortune to spend a day in Tombstone ,AZ where parts of my favorite western were filmed. Of course it is the 1993 version of Tombstone . Love Val Kilmer's line " I'm your huckleberry " . My link this week is the great "Tombstone Blues" by Bob Dylan. This version is by Sheryl Crow .

@thisbear
The last link left us with Aerosmith telling us to get "Back in the saddle" so I did just that. Got back on my pony and jumped a few fences and hoped that The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band might come along and erect an "Equestrian Statue" of us. Clip clop clip clop.

@freddie_bt
Da first time Dad heard Aerosmmith wuz when he wuz sent deir LP by mistake when he mail ordered L by Steve Hillage. Months later his music listenin changed wen Punk reached da UK. He didn't listen to Aerosmith again until deir unlikely collaboration wiv Run DMC & it made us fink of other unexpected collaborations. Da most bizarre n explosive we cud fink of wuz Phil Spector producin The Ramones, no supwise in retrospect dat Spector threatened dem wiv a gun. So our linky is da archetypal punks The Ramones thankfully unburdened by da wall of sound. Da video might be 10+ minutes but you get your moneys worth coz dere's 5 songs ere, last but not least da bwilliant Commando.

@terenceterrier
Last week linky wos by Aerosmith and called “Back in the Saddle” . Scary lot or wot? Strong resemblance to zombies or evil ghosties. Corse if yoo be riding yoo could also be on a horsey. So for our linky i choose “Ghost Riders in the Sky” . Dis haz bin recorded by many great people however I chooses a vershun by Debbie Harry cos I fort I might get brownie points wiv da judge for including a good looking blonde biddy in my linky.

@smcheetham
Morning chainees Clapton chose a song which was called back in the saddle. we know Clapton is a keen cyclists but saddles are also used for people riding horses as well as bikes. That is what I have used for my link to take me to horses and what could be better for the chain than a band of horses. So that my link Infinite Arms by Band of Horses. have a good week everyone.

@bunnersandharvs
Well dun to you Mr Clapton fur dat winnin linky last week from Aerosmith's Back in the Saddle. Dat songy of course makes us think of a songy wid a simular title by Gene Autry wot is also in da mooovie Sleepless in Seattle and dat moovie dus have another songy in it we luvs by Louis Armstrong called A Kiss to Build a Dream On.......so dat is our songy dis week. Why we going wid dat, you says? Well if you getting back in any saddle a little kiss can help you build a dream on it, init. Have a fabuloooos week pals. Xxx

@borderpup
This week we had to link from 'Back in the Saddle'. As soon as saddles are menshuned, Mum just finks of horses! (do girls ever really grow out of their horsey phase?). Anyhoo, when horses run free and don't have saddles, they are wild horses, so my linky is Wild Horses by Gram Parsons, annuver music great who also sadly died young in similar circumstances to Jim Morrison.

@kelsoterrier
One of Aerosmiths most famous recent songs is Crazy and back in the saddle makes you think of horses so my link this week is Crazy Horses by The Osmonds.

@djladylexie
Hmmm many possible roads. Bikes, Saddles, Horses, Skinny Rockers with big lips! Err … yep we go wiv dat one. Steve Tyler is the front man of Aerosmif also know as The Demon of Screamin. So, would you believe, on yootoob is a video of his top 10 screams! Haha. So we gonna use the screamin rockers for our linky. Who da boss of screaming apart from Steve, well for us it dus be nun uva dan Bon Scott from AC/DC. So here is our tribute to all the greatest rock male screams. Bon Scott and AC/DC's Shot Down In Flames.

An da winner ... as chosen by  .... @claptonterrier  ...... dus be .............. @borderpup! Yay well done ma pal Indie! So dat mean you dus be choosin next week.

Ere wot CT said: what another load of great links we had this week…..all the players are so inventive with their links and choices of music….we would like to give an honourable mention to the Ramones (fun!), and Band of Horses (who we had not heard before). We were very happy to see some of our favourite bans included too….but this week’s winner is Wild Horses by Gram Parson….one of our favourite singers singing our very favourite song…..we never get tired of hearing it whoever is singing it…woofhoo….
