Lexie's Chain: The Hundred and Ninety Eighth Chain

Hello pals! Welcome to week 198 of #lexieschain. Last week was Wyn wiv The Loneliness of the Tower Crane Driver by Elbow. Nice song dat! Let us see what we gots dis week:

@maggietkat
Well done Wyn with the Elbows! The chording and lyrics spoke of the sense of lose. I am reminded of other things that can be lost. The Grateful Dead recorded "Touch of Gray", an anthem for the aging hippies who Turned On, Tuned In and Dropped Out.

@terenceterrier
Larst week da winnin linky be “Elbow” wiv “The Loneliness of a Tower Crane Driver” . So for my linky dis week I follow da lonely feem n chooses “Only The Lonely” by Roy Orbison. *sings along* dum dum dum dummy doo wah ......

@smcheetham
Elbow had been plugging away for years without a huge amount of recognition when they won the Mercury prize for the Seldom Seen Kid and if was from then on that their career really took off and they became massive festival favourites. That made us think of using the Mercury Prize as the link which gave us lots of people to choose from. There is only one person who has won the award twice and that is PJ Harvey. The choice this week is from her mercury award winning album Let England Shake and we have gone for the title track. Let England Shake by PJ Harvey.

@skye613
Well done Wyn! I have never heard the tune & greatly enjoyed it. My linky this week comes from the orchestra playing and me thinking what a strange name for a tune!

@djladylexie
That poor fing in the tower crane driver he must be very bored being there all on his own. A solitary existence one might say. Well, that is exacly wot Johnny Cash said in the song Solitary Man.

Ere wot Wyn saided: Well, some really good links this week and, as always, it was hard to choose. However, we're pretty big Johnny Cash fans in this house and are ashamed to say we'd never heard the version in the link (not sure if it was meant to be a link to the Johnny Cash version, but we're actually glad it wasn't) so thanks for that. The winner this week is linky 5 and Johnny Cash with Solitary Man.
