Lexie's Chain: The Two Hundred and Twenty Seventh Chain

Hello pals. Welcome to week 227 of #lexieschain. Last week the winner was Maggie wiv After you Get What You Want by Marilyn Monroe. Let's see wot appened this week!

@claptonterrier
Last week Maggie chose a song which featured in a film starring Marilyn Monroe….a recent music vide featured its singer dressed as  both Marilyn Monroe and Jacqueline Kennedy. It centres on the theme of the assassination of John F. Kennedy. The introduction features the classic rendition "Happy Birthday Mr. President" as performed by Marilyn ….and so this week our link is “National Anthem” by Lana Del Ray.

@bunnersandharvs

@skye613
Maggie did win with a great show tune by Irving Berlin. The train of thought is you may not want what you're wishing for, but Janis wasn't on board that came train. Oh Lord!

@wotterface
Simple this week. From one song about disappointment to another. Adele's Rolling in the Deep. "We could have had it all..." Cor, she's got a pair of lungs on her!

 @terenceterrier
Da winnin linky from pal Maggie larst week woz “After You Get What You Want You Don’t Want It” singed by Marilyn Munro. Da name put on her birf certificate woz Norma Jeane Mortenso. She is da Norma Jean to in da lyriks of da songy  by Sir Elton John “Candle In The Wind” wot be a tribute to her life n wot be my linky dis week.

 @borderpup
Well, how to make a linky from Marilyn's song! As it came from 'There's No Business Like Show Business', we decided to go with Ethel Merman who used to belt out the title song  and was a huge Broadway star - in fact, 'Hello Dolly' was written for her. So Broadway is our link and a hugely popular show in modern times is 'The Lion King'. Here is the song 'Circle of Life' from the film version:

@sonikeBT
Well done @maggiekat for winning with "After you get what you want you don't want it". This is a song about a man who has a roving eye and cheats on Marilyn. Our link this week is about a man who regrets cheating on his girlfriend, "Always the last to know" by Del Amitri. (Reports of us watching the video (ok Justin Currie) over & over again to research link are true. Living the dream!).

@diamondbertie
Well here goes, last week @maggietkat wine with Marilyn Monroe singing After You Get What You Want, she was a famous "sex bomb". Got me thinking of another "sex bomb". Eartha Kitt and she singing I'm Just an Old Fashioned Girl the songs were so typical of these ladies.

@djladylexie
Is true after you get what you want, you don't want it. But there are times when you can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you might get what you need! The Rolling Stones told me that so that's my linky!

An the winner as chosen by ........................ Maggie .......................... dus be ......................... oh noes!!! Not again! Is me! Pffffttttt. Well I dus be in Ibeefa (for real) and so I can get dad to dus it! Yay!

Ere wot Maggie said: OMC, so difficult to chose! I love every chain, so many of my favorites and new ones to learn. For some reason I woke up with the Rolling Stones "You can't always get what you want" on my mind. I couldn't believe it when that song was a chain! By pure coincidence I have to pick The Stones.
